Shondaland To Welcome ‘Romeo and Juliet’ Sequel To ABC’s Thursday Schedule

After turning over three hit shows that coined the hashtag #TGIT and formed the empire also known as Shondaland, Shonda Rhimes is apparently not done expanding her reign. The queen of Thursday night television has announced the release of her new ABC pilot, Still Star-Crossed.

The film reportedly is picking up the pieces of Shakespeare’s dearest love story and drama, Romeo and Juliet. Appropriately, the drama will take place in 16th century Verona and refocuses on the rivalry between the Montagues and Capulets following the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.

Rhimes will be joined in the production and writing room by Heather Mitcher, who also executive produces Scandal. Still Star-Crossed has not been given an official air date, but as trailers for the upcoming seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder release, we can only hope it will be soon.
